Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit Participate in 26th Muscat International Book Fair

Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit participated in the 26th Muscat International Book Fair in a corner dedicated for “Oman Vision 2040”, from 24th February to 5th March 2022.

Through this participation, the Unit aimed to highlight the efforts made to achieve Oman Vision 2040 in collaboration with the concerned entities. It also aimed to educate the society about Oman Vision 2040, its pillars, national priorities, as well as the mechanisms adopted to follow up the progress of implementing the vision.

The Unit introduced the key national programs launched by Oman Vision 2040, in collaboration with the relevant entities. These programs represent a rapid response to the requirements of the current phase and to local, regional and international changes, and enhance the Vision's flexibility in responding to these changes.

At this phase, emphasis has been placed on economic programs, taking into consideration the importance of the economy in leading development and providing the necessary requirements for the development of other sectors.

The programs launched by the Vision are: The National Program for Financial Sustainability, implemented by the Ministry of Finance, the National Program for Investment and Exports Development "Nazdahir”, implemented by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, and the National Employment Program “Tashgheel”.

The corner of the vision consisted of four main sections, each of them was equipped with screens that display the pillars of the vision: People and Society, Economy and Development, Sustainable Environment and Governance and Institutional Performance. In addition to that, the corner highlighted the 12 National Priorities of the vision, namely: Education, Learning, Scientific Research and National Capabilities, Health, Citizenship, Identity, National Heritage and Culture, Well-being and Social Protection, Economic Leadership and Management, Economic Diversification and Fiscal Sustainability, Labor Market and Employment, The Private Sector, Investment and International Cooperation, Development of Governorates and Sustainable Cities, Environment and Natural Resources, Legislative, Judicial and Oversight System, Governance of the State’s Administrative Bodies, Resources and Projects.

During the exhibition, the specialists from Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit will provide a comprehensive explanation of the Unit's mechanisms and methodologies in monitoring the implementation of the Vision, and the Performance Indicators dashboard developed by the Unit in cooperation with the entities responsible for the supervision of the implementation of the national programs. Also, the representatives of these programs will provide an explanation of each program, its tasks and its most important initiatives and projects.

Oman Vision 2040 Corner attracted students from various schools, colleges and universities who were visiting the exhibition, in order to provide a thorough and simplified explanation about the vision, in addition to targeting the rest of the society.

Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit was established by Royal Decree No. 100/2020 to follow up the implementation of the objectives of the vision, and support government entities to ensure its implementation.
